Tug of War (2016-2018): VIDEO & SOUND INSTALLATION WITH 15 MONITORS

"Tug of War" is a video installation with 15 monitors showing a man struggling to pull on the same rope from either side. "Tug of War" is performed by identical twins. The video is recorded in 15 increments, each monitor showing a single slice of the recording.

Arranged in a circle, the viewer will see a performer caught up in a struggle continually moving back and forth along the video plane. While representing a self that is forcefully conflicted, the installation embodies polarization within the self rather than in the other.

Viewers will be surrounded by the monitors and will have to physically turn around to follow; they will not be able to view the whole struggle at once.
