Sisyphus On Vacation, exhibition Palais Liechtenstein Feldkirch Austria, Apr 5 - 29, 2007

Sisyphus On Vacation is a land art project by the Austrian sculptor and media artist Richard Jochum. It is the product of a two-week artist-in-residency in the Austrian Alps in summer 2006 and part of a group show at the Palais Liechtenstein in Feldkirch, Austria, in April 2007.

The exhibition puts on display a 792 pound weighing boulder corresponding to the amount of stones that were carried uphill by the artist and his fellow hikers; 5 images telling the story of the process; a video documenting the hauling of the stones uphill; the carrying rack; and the photograph of the circle of stones as they are laid out on top of the mountain.
